    Did You know?

Approximately 1 in 3 Americans have high blood pressure, and only half have it under control, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

    What is high blood pressure?

Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of your arteries and can rise and fall throughout the day. If your blood pressure stays high for a long period of time, it can damage your heart and increase your risk for heart disease and stroke. It’s important to measure your blood pressure and take steps to control it if it is not in the ideal range (less than 120/80 mmHg).

    What are the risk factors?

Some risk factors include family history, health conditions, and lifestyle factors, which include a high-sodium diet, tobacco use, excessive alcohol consumption, and lack of physical activity. If you have diabetes or prehypertension (blood pressure between 120/80 – 139/89 mmHg), then you also increase your possibility of developing hypertension.

Take control of your health today

As a chronic condition, hypertension requires consistent monitoring and medical follow up. Pinnacle Health Management has teamed up with employers to offer eligible individuals a free support program to help you manage your high blood pressure more effectively and live a healthier life.

Important: Eligibility requirements apply. For employees to be eligible to enroll in the hypertension ( high blood pressure) program, they must have a current diagnosis from a medical professional and that program must be offered by their employer through an active partnership with Pinnacle Health Management. Program incentives are subject to change and will vary by employer.
